Cause we have been totaly in love with this sound some years before, some friends of mine an me did a rework which sounds nearly the same, we used to play in our sets. Cause sadly this rework has never been released and we totaly wanted it...

This is the version of Another Way that was supposed to be on the lost album Avenue of Stars, under the name Imagination. It was also supposed to be the first single for Ave of Stars. If you dig deep enough on Amazon, you will see preorder data for Imagination by Paul van Dyk from 1998/1999. Also want to point out that this version was co-produced by Johnny Klimek, who was PvD’s co-producer during the MFS days. All the other versions that came after he started vandit were done by PvD himself.

"Avenue of Stars" was the name of what would've been the 3rd album from Paul van Dyk. From what I know, PVD had some disputes with MFS founder Mark Reeder which prevented him from releasing the album. Some of the tracks from Avenue of Stars would end up being reworked for PVD's actual 3rd album, Out There and Back. This was also around the time he established Vandit Records in 1999. Hadn't the disputes ever happened, the album would've been released around 1998 or 1999.

This is the live version PVD played on his Cafe Mambo gig and was recorded as part of the infamous Essential Mix by Pete Tong. Don’t think this is an official release. PVD is known to remix songs during his live gigs and that’s why his live sessions are unique.

Fuck me i never knew this mix existed always banged out the above and beyond mix which this is with the pvd touch added. I love it!! I need to track this down on vinyl now

As perfect as the Above & Beyond Remix of this song is, this is just so much more. Just EPIC

Shame about the mix into it - but its a blinding song and far better than the A&B version. Oakenfolds mix isnt too bad but the lyrics arent as pronounced and PVD's reworx are often second to non. I heard it in the above set whilst training on my bike - it brought goosebumps to me whilst riding. Thats the beauty of trance !
